Christmas Blizzard Sew Along--Day 3
Well, we are almost done with our beautiful Christmas throw. Have you had a good time putting the rows together? I sure did! In fact, I am looking forward to making it again as a “winter quilt” with lots of Blue prints instead of red. Won’t that be darling???
Today’s instruction is very brief—there’s not much left to do. So let’s get to it!
So, the biggest part of today’s work will be trimming off the zig zag edges to make a nice rectangular quilt center. This is not hard at all—but some quilters are shy about trimming off all of that fabric.
The most important thing is that you keep your corners square so that the edges make a nice 90 degree angle. It won’t matter if you have to trim into your rows a little to get square corners—since there are no points or piecing that you would cut off to change the view of the pattern. Using a large square ruler at the corners will help with this. Be sure you measure your quilt center before you cut your borders.
Get those borders sewn on and get this quilt top off to the quilter. It will be nice to beat the Christmas rush and have your new throw all ready to add to your Christmas decor.
Before long, you will be sewing on the binding!
Thanks so much for sewing along with me. Let’s do it again, soon!
Happy Quilting
