RBD Block Challenge--Jillily Block

RBD Block Challenge--Jillily Block

It’s my turn to release a block pattern in the Riley Blake Block Challenge!

The name of my block is “Sugar Candy.” When I was designing it, I was working with some of my Grove collection fabrics. The citrus sections in orange and pink reminded me of those sugar-coated fruit slice candies. So that’s how the block got its name! Here’s my block made up in Sugar Candy fabrics.

By the time we started the Block Challenge, I had decided to make all of my blocks using a different color palette. The pretty Pink, Green, and Black prints from my Grove collection are what I settled on.

Here is “Sugar Candy” in my block challenge fabrics:

My block is number 9 in the series of 16. Here are all of the blocks so far.

I can’t wait to get them all, and get them sewn together. Riley Blake will be releasing the setting instructions in June. The FREE patterns are all available on the Riley Blake website. Click here to find them.

I have put together a Block Challenge Kit. It includes all the fabrics for the 16 blocks and the setting/sashings to complete the quilt top. You can order your kit HERE.

This is going to be such a pretty quilt—and the patterns are all FREE!

I have another surprise for you.

I wanted to see how the Sugar Candy block would look in a whole quilt. You know I love applique, so I just had to add some! In my new Clematis quilt, I have alternated the pieced Sugar Candy blocks with appliqued blocks. It turned out great. I love this happy little quilt!

I want you to have the alternate block pattern for FREE also—so you can download the pattern from my website. Click HERE.

Those four appliqued blocks sure make this block shine, right?

This quilt is just 54” square—a perfect little wall hanging or table topper. It would even be great as a bed topper or baby quilt. I also have kits— just click HERE.

I guess that’s all for the Block Challenge today. Next month we will get 3 new patterns—I can’t wait! Are you doing the Block Challenge? How many blocks have you sewn up?

Happy Quilting!
