Riley Blake Designs BLOCK CHALLENGE!

All the folks at Riley Blake have been busy preparing this year’s Block Challenge for you. Some of your favorite designers have created the blocks for this fun sampler quilt. Just sew up one block a week, and by the end you will have a beautiful quilt! Easy Peasy!

It all started this week. I made up the first block and it was so fun. First I decided on a color scheme for the whole quilt, and I pulled the fabrics for it. I am using prints from my Grove fabric collection.

Here is my version of Block 1. It was designed by Amanda Niederhauser of Jedi Craft Girl. Amanda is a fabulous designer, and such a fun gal. She is a busy mom, and we can relate to that!

**FUN FACT**

Amanda is my cousin! Actually, she is married to my second cousin, so that counts, right?? I didn’t even know her until she came to Quilt Market as one of Riley Blake’s new designers. When I heard her name, I said, “I bet we’re related.” Sure enough. We checked it out and we share great-grandparents! Small world, right?

I liked this block so much that I sewed up two versions. I may even make more. . .
